I enjoy the challenge and freedom of working from life - observing light, colour, value and interpreting what I see onto canvas.

Painting outdoors provides a unique set of challenges - one is required to work quickly to capture the fleeting light.

I feel this time restraint has helped me focus on the essentials of painting.

My current fascination is capturing mood and atmosphere while using a limited palette.
