Opening the Centennial Cairn

In 1967 - Canada's Centennial year - Norval Women's Institute built a Cairn on the current site of Norval Children's garden. They enclosed a time capsule in the Cairn - with the expectation that it would be opened 50 years in the future.

Now it is 2017 - Canada's 150 Anniversary of Confederation - and time to open the time capsule to see what was part of the cache inside.

Norval citizens, wearing period costumes, will be on site to assist with the opening and reburial of the capsule. This time they will include current 2017 memorabilia.
